Robert Rauschenberg

Rauschenberg is a collage artiestes who I am particularly interested in because he creates work which looks into a range of themes and issues. I am particularly interested in his work which look at political views included the work about J.F.K and the 1960s. During this time man first landed on the moon and J.F.K. was assassinated along with a number of other factors and events/. Rauschenberg has taken this events and collaborated them together to create a final piece. As the events aren’t exactly related, Rauschenberg has used paint to bring the images together to form one. The use of paint has also highlighted important parts of the work for example, J.F.K.’s pointing finger during one of this speeches – an iconic memory of the president.

I decided to look into this type of collage because it is fascinating to look at as well as using a range of materials. The paint really brings the work together to form a collaboration. The image relate in an obvious way in order to highlight a piece of history in one artwork which is fascinating to the reader because it gives them information as well as being aesthetically pleasing.
